World Standards Day

World Standards Day is held globally every year on October 14th and marks the first meeting of 25 countries in 1956 who decided to establish an international organisation for facilitating standardisation. This day the members of the Word Standards Cooperation (WSC), the International Electro technical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) honor thousands of experts who develop International Standards and stress the importance of standardization in creating a world that is better, fairer and more sustainable.
The theme for World Standard Day 2021 is:

Standards for sustainable development goals – a shared vision for a better future
The theme aims to address social imbalance, sustainable economies and climate crisis. Global standards play a key role in supporting the sustainability of our planet and human society.

International Standards:

  • offer practical solutions we can all stand behind.

help organizations meet requirements, develop good practices, improve quality of products and services, prevent accidents, increase environmental performance and enhance customers satisfaction.
