Who can be accredited?

UNIVAB provides accreditations to conformity assessment bodies (CAB). These bodies consist of laboratories, certification and inspection bodies, providers of proficiency tests and reference material producers.

A CAB may be accredited by UNIVAB if it meets the requirements of the corresponding international standards. These are included:

ISO/IEC 17024 for Certification of persons
ISO/IEC 17065 for product certification
ISO 30003 for Ship recycling management systems
Inspection BodiesISO/IEC 17020
LaboratoriesISO/IEC 17025 for testing and calibration Laboratories
ISO 15189 for Medical Laboratories
Validation and verification bodiesISO/IEC 17029 for validation and verification
ISO 14065 for Greenhouse gases
Providers of proficiency testsISO/IEC 17043
Producers of reference materials (RM)ISO/IEC 17034

The international harmonization of these standards warrants that the accreditations are carried out on a global basis according to the same criteria.
